The fruits of the garden are used to feed the elderly, supply a local community program called “Healthy Thursdays,” and provide many residents with a fresh dietary supplement. Children who come to volunteer in the garden have the opportunity to watch their seeds grow into plants which bear vegetables that they themselves harvest and eat.
Ongoing projects in the garden include: year-round planting, watering and
harvesting; the addition of a greenhouse; the eventual acquisition of
adjacent land to build a mini-park.
