Youth Dialogue
Hello!
Thank you for your interest in the Youth Dialogue for Peace Pangea Day Project.
The great goal of this work is to foster an inclusive community built upon compassionate communication and valued diversity.
Peaceful Dialogue has been in process by facilitators in Memphis for over a year. Built upon this preparation, the newest chapter is this effort has been working with Arab and Jewish youth in the Memphis area, with a focus on establishing peaceful communication between their local communities.
Beginning with the youth to develop their trust and relationships with each other, they then take those tools of peaceful change into their communities with them. An opportunity arose to launch their process by engaging the youth in a task together to address the idea of peace through the making of a short film. This film was designed and completed by the youth in collaboration with dialogue facilitators and a local filmmaker. The film, titled Project Hello? was submitted to the Pangea Day 2008 global film festival.
It is the hope of the Midsouth Peace & Justice Center that this film is a public indication of the beginning of an ongoing process to encourage and develop peaceful dialogue between diverse groups. This film and these youth will serve to facilitate relations and discussions including but not limited to conflict, war, and peace.
Arab and Jewish youth in Memphis working towards peaceful dialogue have
created this film, this message, to share with the world.
Please take a look.
